Welcome to The World of Ants Workshop! Are you looking for a unique and educational experience for your child? Our 60-minute workshop is designed to introduce kids to the fascinating hobby of antkeeping.
This workshop will teach your child about the incredible world of ants, from finding queen ants to starting their own colony. It’s a perfect opportunity to spark their curiosity and ignite a passion for the sciences.

This workshop is suitable for kids aged 5 to 10 who are interested in ants and antkeeping. Workshops are led by Venk, an experienced STEM instructor. Specific location information will be emailed to you prior to the workshop.
The World of Ants Workshop is a fun and engaging 60+ minute session where kids will learn:
- How to Find Queen Ants: We’ll teach your child where and how to find queen ants to start their own ant colony.
- Ant Anatomy: Discover the fascinating anatomy of ants and how each part plays a crucial role in their survival.
- Lifecycles: Learn about the lifecycle of ants, from egg to adult, and understand the roles of different types of ants within a colony.
- Interesting Facts: Explore amazing facts about ants that will captivate your child’s imagination.
- Antkeeping Supplies: We’ll showcase various antkeeping supplies and demonstrate how to use them to care for an ant colony.
- Gift!: Every child participant will get a free surprise gift!
Throughout the workshop, we’ll have live ant colonies on display, allowing your child to observe these incredible insects up close. They will also get hands-on experience with antkeeping supplies, learning the best practices for maintaining a healthy and thriving ant colony. We will also stick around a little after the workshop to help kids identify ants they may catch around the meeting area, and answer questions.
